Luxury Smart Watch
DeLaCour Luxury, an American market version from the European bespoke watch maker, sought to create the first completely self-contained smartphone in a watch body. The smartwatch featured its own travel case with a wireless charging dock and display. However, it was the modularity of the design that allowed a customer to add different combinations of bespoke bezel, body and bands. The lasting feature was the internal components engineered to be in a compact replaceable chassis so the watch itself (made of high priced luxury materials) would never be technologically deprecated. My direct responsibility was execution of the industrial design, proposing technology packaging and charging dock/case, DFM documentation and liaison with Pegatron (Taiwanese technology company), and preliminary GUI proposals.
